#249 Malacca 8D
Thursday, 27 May 2010

If I were to write out every single thing that happened during the Malacca trip, this post would be never ending. And if I were to post all the pictures I took here in this post (400 pictures), it would go on for infinity.

So to cut a long story short, the Malacca trip was awesome (: And so, just 30 pointers on what we did/accomplished during the Malacca trip:

1) I did not sleep in the bus on both journeys at all, although majority of my classmates did.
2) I brought (and ate) a lot of junk food and sweets.
3) I ate a lot during the meals. Probably the most. My appetite scared a lot of people.
4) It was very swelteringly hot.
5) The first Malaysian house we visited in Mini Malaysia scared the hell out of me. And I thus discovered that I am a tee bit afraid of heights.
6) I pity the MOZAC students who have to climb so high up the hill everyday to go to school.
7) I now know to treasure Singapore toilets.
8) The Peranakan Museum has a very nice gift shop. Yes, I bought a lot of stuff there.
9) It is a little freaky going into the Peranakan Museum knowing that it was like hundreds of years old, and somebody, probably dead by now, used to live in it.
10) Jonkers Street is awesome. I want to buy stuff!!!
11) It was very swelteringly blisteringly ludicrously hot.
12) Sophia loves slippers.
13) I bought a nice yellow hat from a place.
14) I forgot what the place is called.
15) A' Farmosa is on a very strategically located hill.
16) That hill is very difficult to climb.
17) The story of the hand of St. Francis Xavier is freakishly freaky.
18) 213 has cameras with very slow reaction time. (Proof: multiple fails at jump shot)
19) 213 is not a "top" class. (worst pun ever)
20) I fail at "top".
21) The house in the Malacca village was beyond stuffy.
22) I was totally stoning when they were teaching how to make ketupat.
23) Thus, I randomly folded the leaves. So did Rachel Wu.
24) The walk around the Malacca village was, in one word: boring.
25) Oh, it was also very swelteringly blisteringly ludicrously extravagantly irritatingly ridiculously hot.
26) Basket weaving is kinda cool and fun, once you get the hang of it.
27) Li Shuen did not make a basket.
28) Neither did Rachel Wu.
29) 213 was awesomely high during the return journey -heart-
30) I love 213 -heart-

Crap the Facebook photo uploader is taking freaking long to load. Ugh.

#248 tomorrow!! O:

OMG Tomorrow going Malacca already!!! O: I can't believe the days flew by so quickly, and can't imagine how quickly the next few days will fly past. That in the blink of an eye, the Malacca trip would be over as quickly as it had come.

But now, I guess I'm just content with my Jodi Picoult book Nineteen Minutes (I've just finished Change of Heart and let Jamie borrow Handle with Care) pink Hello Kitty harversack, my blue Crumpler, and a white Nanyang tote bag full of tidbits for the bus ride (:

House Rules
Just because your son can't look you in the eye . . . does that make him guilty?

Jacob Hunt is a teenager: brilliant at maths, wicked sense of humour, extraordinarily organised, hopeless at reading social cues. And Jacob has Asperger's. He is locked in his own world – aware of the world outside, and wanting to make a connection. Jacob tries to be like everyone else, but doesn't know how.

When his tutor is found dead, all the hallmark behaviours of Jacob's syndrome – not looking someone in the eye, odd movements, inappropriate actions – start looking a lot like guilt to the police. And Jacob's mother must ask herself the hardest question in the world: is her child capable of murder?

Picture Perfect
What do you do when the person who holds you together is the one who tears you apart?

A woman is found in a Los Angeles graveyard, unable to remember anything about herself or her life. No one is more surprised than she when, days later, her husband comes to the police station to take her home - and turns out to be Hollywood's leading superstar, Alex Rivers.

Cassie Barrett begins to remember bits about her life: her passion for her career as an anthropologist, the whirlwind romance on location in Africa, her childhood. But she senses there is something troubling in this perfect life that she can't remember; and then, when she sees a pregnancy test, it all comes flooding back - and once again, Cassie feels there is no alternative but escape...

Songs of the Humpback Whale
How can you save your daughter when you couldn’t save yourself?

Jane has always lived in someone else’s shadow. Escaping a childhood of abuse by marrying oceanographer Oliver Jones, she finds herself taking second place to his increasingly successful career. However, when her daughter Rebecca is similarly treated, Jane’s dramatic stand takes them all by surprise.

Leaving Oliver and his whale tapes behind in California, Jane and Rebecca set out to drive across America to Jane’s brother Joley and the sanctuary of the New England apple orchard where he works.

Now Oliver, an expert at tracking male humpback whales across vast oceans, must track his wife across a continent. To do so he will need to find a new way to see the world, his family and himself – through her eyes.

Jodi Picoult’s powerful novel portrays an emotionally charged marriage that changes course in one explosive moment.

Second Glance

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

From the moment Ross’s fiancée Aimee was killed in a car accident, he’s been trying to die, too. But life just won’t let him go. His only hope now is that Aimee will come to him.

What he finds there is not Aimee’s ghost, but Lia, a very real woman whose life is filled with as many troubled secrets as his own. Perhaps it’s not a haunted place after all, but somewhere to lay ghosts to rest, and start living again.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

So when, in the middle of the night, the baby comes, Katie does the only thing she knows how to do in times of stress: she prays.

She falls asleep, exhausted, and when she wakes, it seems her prayer is answered. The baby is gone. Her father need never know.

The Tenth Circle
Your daughter says she was raped.
But the man she’s accused was her boyfriend.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

There is more than one way to lose a child.

Daniel Stone had thought it would never happen to him. How could it, when Trixie's face lit up every time she saw him, when his was the first name she called, when for her whole life he'd been the centre of her world? But recently it seems, without him noticing it, his daughter is gone, and in her place is a stranger.Until the night fourteen-year-old Trixie comes home from a party claiming she was raped, and suddenly she needs him more than ever before. Because the whole school knew Jason Underhill broke Trixie's heart, but that doesn’t make him a rapist, does it?

For Daniel, there is no doubt: his daughter is innocent. He has failed to protect her once. Now he will do anything to save her.

Salem Falls
The man you love is accused of rape.
It's not the first time.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Jack St. Bride was once a beloved teacher at a private girls' school – until a student's crush sparked a powder keg of accusation and robbed him of his career and reputation. After a devastatingly public ordeal that left him with an eight-month jail sentence and no job, Jack resolved to pick up the pieces of his life. He takes a job washing dishes at Addie Peabody's diner in the quiet New England village of SALEM FALLS and slowly starts to form a relationship with her.

But a quartet of teenage girls harbours dark secrets – and they maliciously target Jack with a shattering allegation. Now, at the centre of a modern-day witch hunt, Jack is forced once again to proclaim his innocence: to a town searching for answers, to a justice system where truth becomes a slippery concept written in shades of grey, and to the woman who has come to love him
.

Now, for the first time in their marriage, she finds herself set against Cam, siding with Jamie and wondering if what he says is right: that in a relationship, there’s always one who loves more . . .

#245 open house :D
Saturday, 22 May 2010

Yes today was Open House. So busy.

Kick started this beautiful day with an early 7 am. Left home at 7.20 and reached school at 7.40 to set guzhengs up at Atrium. Then from 8 to 9.30 I was at Bio Lab 4 (the one with air con :D) to help out with Physics O. It was actually some air plane exhibition but it was so boring, I started to wander around to see the other exhibits at Bio Lab 4 with Ying Ying. 9.30 to 11 was Guzheng. We played all the da zu songs (: And then I had a quick lunch, and spent all the $3 on spaghetti and big milo no ice. Which made me really wanna pee. And they had no more pearls )): And today I drank a lot of milo. Morning: one medium cup of warm milo. Guzheng break: 3 awesome ice cold small milo cups from the milo truck xoxo. Lunch: 1 big cup of cold milo. See yes. Anyhoo. 11 to 1 helped out with Physics O again, with Jing Ci. We actually helped out more with that frequency thingy. And played around cos there weren't many "customers" :/ 1 to 1.45 with guzheng again. Played ponyo and yan lei. There were very few people ): Cos Open House was already ending. 1.45 to 2+ went to library the wsc booth to cheong out LA broadcast with Cheryl Yau who was supposed to be manning the booth and her father had already arrived. Oh they kept playing Sorry Sorry throughout the Open House which was damn irritating and it is now echoing in my head. Oh OH OH! And I saw Janice giving school tours :D 加油 for PSL!! (:

Then waited for daddy and mummy to come until like 3 o'clock. And I stole a goodie bag :D Actually not really "stole". The PSL teachers also took and they allowed the sec 1s to take and they had a hell lot of bags left (: Li Shuen took one too :D

Then 3 to 6 at Jamie's house for Math Research (: I had 6 chicken wings and 2 small servings of fried rice (with corn O:) and lots of Pringles Seaweed flavour (it was awesomest!!). Then went to pick Han Wei at Bras Basah and went to a restaurant at Siloso Beach to eat :D There, I had 1 bowl of pumpkin soup, 1 and 2/3 bowls of rice, 3 pieces of mantou (it was awesomest!! damn crispy and awesomest!!), lots of broccoli (it was also awesomest!!), some duck, NO mussels (I hate them), 1/2 a glass of cold water, 1 glass of watermelon juice :D

Burp.Reached home at 9 plus.Oh, and ME AND RACHEL NG HAVE FINALLY FINISHED OUR IH SIA!!! :D I just printed it out and it is frigging 83 pages long O: Including front page + contents page + research :D

Pics from today :DFrequency of me voice :D

1900 Hz O: Damn high leh.

Eh this is Math Research :/

The perfect pumpkin in which the soup came in xD

The buttmarks of my glasses of water and watermelon juice (:
