#658 the shadow of the past
Monday, 10 October 2011

We're leaving in twelve hours' time, but it hasn't sunk in yet, so I'm not feeling very excited. In fact I feel very normal.

I guess I'm just not looking forward to missing out on my nice bed, my room, my nice warm showers, my privacy, my free time, my Internet and all... Sigh.

Plus this morning I had a pretty shitty day in school, despite the fact that it was also one of the slackest schooling days for the seven of us. During Math, Mdm Lee made us sit seperately at the left side of the class, nearer to the corridors, in one group and the rest of the class took up the rest of the room, so we were like this drifting isolated island. So in Math and Bio and CCT, we were like on different wavelengths from the rest of the class. When everyone was busy doing IM1 past year and going through Bio questions and prep-quizzes with Mrs Wong, we were like... busy chatting away about which bunk we were gonna take and where we were gonna sit on the airplane.

And I found myself sandwiched in between Jia Yi and Meiling, with Qianhui in front of me. Which turned out to be a rather bad choice because they kept talking about something Korean-related and I was like trying to pay attention to Mrs Wong but I kept hearing Korean references -.-

I think the day was made worse because I'd forgotten to bring -cough- and my godawful annoying shoe was cutting into my ankle and I think there's a scar there now. I mean, nothing new, it has happened to me before, every single time I wear this shoe, but it still hurts like hell so for the entire day I ended up walking like some weirdo.

After school, Mummy and I went to nex to buy last minute stuff although I was quite shacked out and all and I just wanted to go home and bathe and fall asleep, but I couldn't because I still hadn't packed my luggage -.-

So in nex we basically ran around everywhere. First we went to NTUC at level 3, then Popular at level 4, then some gift shop at the other end of level 4 from Popular (actually it was quite close to Popular, we just found ourselves walking in the opposite direction =.=), then Watsons at level 2, then Isetan at the really-far-opposite end from Watsons.

After all that walking... went to post office at Serangoon Central to get the stamp and post Nina's letter. At long last (:

And so, home, and the hated packing began.

As of now, I've more or less finished with the packing, but there's still some stuff here and there that haven't been packed, like my laptop cables, because I obviously need them for my laptop now. I do hope it's like way lighter, not like just by a couple of kilograms, than 20kg. I think I'll take the electronic weighing scale from Mummy's toilet and yank the entire luggage onto it and cross my fingers. Hopefully the glass of the weighing scale doesn't break. It shouldn't. Since it says it can take a maximum weight of 150kg -nods head-

That blue thick Nanyang sweater-pullover thing is quite annoying. I folded it and stuffed it into my Crumpler which I'm bringing handcarry, and it ended up taking up more than half the space so now I've to somehow squish my laptop in as well. And make sure my Crumpler closes nicely, because I really hate it when Crumplers don't close properly and show just a teeniest bit of velcro. I go all insane and rip it noisily open again and arrange everything nicely and force the thing to shut all the way.

I should sleep early, but that means I have to turn off the com now and I still wanna spend the most time I can with internet (:

I shall not air my already-made-grievances about the hostels. I'm really brimming with them. Ugh, imagine what I'll be like in Fudan -.-

Please, please, please I pray that tomorrow will be a safe flight... Why did we have to watch Seconds from Disaster - of all shows possible - tonight during dinner, and it so happened to be documenting a case where a fire onboard a plane caused it to plummet straight into a swamp??

And I pray that I will ______ -cough cough cough- Something. Yes. PLEEEEEEEASE.

Bye blog ):

I still haven't decided which pillow/stuffed toy to bring along, and whether to put it in my handcarry or luggage.

Maybe Boo, in my handcarry, since my luggage is all squishy now :D

#656 we'll steal a car and crash into the ocean
Sunday, 9 October 2011

Today and yesterday have been very slack days. With the constant dreading on my part about having to pack my luggage. Friday night, Mummy and I looked through our luggage after luggage of winter clothing and I was choosing those that I'll be bringing to Shanghai. Then yesterday... What did I do yesterday o.o Later we're going to get the other stuffs that I need. I'm actually kind of worried, like what if I don't bring enough stuff... What if I accidentally... you know... stain something... -yanks hair out-

And it seems as if everyone else has already squished everything into their luggage and all ready to go. And I'm like still... Please. I haven't packed a single thing into my luggage yet. And we're leaving in two days' time. Maybe I'm learning from Mummy, you know, how she always last minute packs her luggage the night before going overseas...

I think it's just in my family, I realise. Because Daddy does that too o.o

It runs in the family.

Hah.

Jiang today was... okay. We did 长文缩短. There were only 10 people in the class ._. I honestly don't see the point of learning the skills of 长文缩短, because under timed exam conditions, you start freaking out very muchly and heck care all the skills you've learned and just cancel out anything you deem not important. Which, in most cases, happens to be the points that get your marks -.-

I'm praying so, so hard that in China we'll have lots of free time to ourselves at night, so I can catch up on Tumblr and Twitter and most importantly, my weekly dosage of TVD and TSC if not I swear I will shrivel up and rot away and die a horrible death. My roommates will become very sick of me. Please, please, please I want the lower bunk D: Like desperately. Very desperately -pouts-

Getting contact lenses tomorrow! Since Nanfang doesn't open on Sundays. And I hope can 顺便 weigh the letter that I wrote to Nina (in French, mind you) at the post office so can see which stamp to get. So now I'm also praying that the post office is also open because for some reason, whenever I walk past the post office at Serangoon Central, it always seems to be closed -.- But maybe that's because it's always during the weekends that I walk past it ._.

-travels back in time-

One minute before EPGY ended! I was so excited and all so I started randoming around like writing YAY!!! with the highlighter Mrs Lai gave us before BT2, and wrote the alphabets in cursive :D Actually when I was checking I last minute realised that one of the trig questions was ___ + ___ = 1. When I thought it was 0 at first so I'd done it as if it were 0. But by then it was already like 5 minutes till when the teacher would announce with a certain vindictive pleasure, "Okay pens down! Stop writing! I SAID STOP WRITING!" and I was pretty tired after 3 hours straight of Math, so I was like... Heck already lah.

Friday's dinner of fish and chips!!!!!!!!! :DDDDDD Except that there were many bones in the fish, the baked beans were spicy (totally ruined the taste, I tell you -.-). And Aunty Kathy made the thousand island sauce by mixing tomato ketchup with mayonnaise xD

Saturday's lunch! While watching Howl's Moving Castle ♥ I realise I really love that show too. So the next time someone asks me what's my favourite Studio Ghibli show, I'll probably say Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away. And I really, really really love the theme song of Howl's Moving Castle :DDD

Anyway, yes that was lunch. With the big fat poofy egg yolk and I was so tempted to poke it but it was so pretty and I didn't want to poke it at the same time but in the end I had to look away and poke it with my fork and mix it all up in the soup. Han Wei just put the egg yolk on the spoon and swallowed the egg yolk whole -.-

Finally got to reply letters! Last written letters of the year )': -wipes away tear- But I sort of like the design of it... that's why I took photo haha! :D

On the insides too... (: I sort of took inspiration from one of the cool fonts I'd downloaded on my com. It's really cool, but only available for a few letters which kinda ruined everything -.- But anyway, it's like a really simple font, but some letters have these cool vintagey designs, like plants. Repeat: I did not copy the font for these okay. I just came up with them on my own :D

Last night when we were going home from Finnegan's birthday party at Costa Sands Pasir Ris, we stopped by Shell to pump more air in the tires and to pump more petrol. So Han Wei and I decided to try the Starbucks thingies! They only have two flavours - Coffee and Mocha. Which was kinda disappointing because only got two flavours and they are both coffee! And I'm not exactly a coffee drinker but anyway I decided to try it so I took Mocha while Han Wei took Coffee, saying that he drank coffee anyway. Show off -.-

So... Mocha tastes like Coffee. Very much. With this slight chocolatey taste. And now I sound like I'm doing a Ko Ko Krunch commercial.

Anyway, I finished it while watching The Vampire Diaries Season 2 on Channel 5 :D

I think I'm very good at this -smiles widely and nods slowly-

Reminds me of the song Fighter by SS501 :D

I like this quote of his, but I can't help questioning it...

I've dreamt of myself flying before. Like really flying without any help from airplanes or gliders or whatnot. So does this mean that one day I'll fly??

I hope so. I really, really want to know what it feels like to fly. Which is one reason why I'm sometimes so envious of birds.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE. -nods head-

It will be so fun D:

Listening to the Rohan theme song while looking at this globe thing now HAHA :D totally apt.

Stay yourself, in other words.

Miao.

Hey Yi Xin! This is a picture for you!! :D

Coo. Doo. Foo. Goo. Joo. Koo. Loo. Moo. Noo. Ooo. Poo. Qoo. Roo. Soo. Too. Voo. Woo. Xoo. Yoo. Zoo.

Hey, zoo!!

TVD family love~~~~ ♥

The Original family will be so totally cool!!

So far we already know there's Klaus, Elijah -cue cheer-, Rebekah, and the Original mother who will appear in episode 8 :D Together with Elijah!!!!!!! :DDDDD -more cue cheer-

Photobucket
Person holding the camera: Matt Davis aka Alaric Saltzman (:

Four of them are like best friends ((: ♥

And I didn't know this, I only found out recently, that Nina and Kat actually like 2NE1!! O:

Not that I like 2NE1, I just find it rather fascinating.

TVD LOVEEEEEEEEEEE :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ -spazzes muchly-

Aw, they're brothers ((:

Photobucket
Stelena~ ♥

This scene was so heartbreaking I felt like crying )':

Photobucket
I don't care whether he's bad or good. Elena will forever be his. End of story. As much as Delena is so cute and whatnot, Stefan and Elena will always belong together.

Hahahaha this scene was like funniest of the episode xD

Adding that to Rebekah's Australian accent and Klaus' British accent = (Y) (Y)

I realise Claire Holt (Rebekah of TVD) and Phoebe Tonkin (Faye of TSC) have actually worked together before OTL

She is soooooooo cute!!! :DD Totally unlike her character.

They look so dark here it's scary. I think I prefer Cassie as how she looks like in the show, not with her bangs down like that...

And I'd very much have preferred if they had stuck to the original circle of twelve like in the books... Cassie, Adam, Diana, Faye, Nick, Laurel, Melanie, Suzan, Deborah, Sean, Chris, Doug.

Speaking of which read finish The Captive Part II and The Power yesterday ((: Awesomeness~~ I love the twists!! :D

Black John from 1600s = John Blake from 1976 = Jack Brunswick = ... Cassie's father.

I totally did not expect that.

Photobucket
This just made me love her character even more xD

Photobucket
And this too (: I like this Cassie-Faye friendship thing (: They seem less hostile towards each other in the TV series than in the books... which I think is quite nice ((: Faye's actually really nice :D The antagonists are like... the adults.

ASDFGHJKL DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:

Samoyed? Its expression is just... heartbreaking.

Going to step out of the country in two days' time... Hope everything goes smoothly. Haiz.

This picture makes me sad, for some reason. Maybe because I see the deer as like it's going to die soon, as if it has been shot by a hunter or something...

How depressing.
