Due to the 7 hour time difference between Singapore and France, most of the times now, I'm awake at odd (in terms of Singapore) hours, and when I'm asleep, like at 7am over here, my phone is buzzing with activity from Facebook and whatnot because it's in the afternoon in Singapore.

I'm seeing a lot of Breaking Dawn related posts on Tumblr recently, which makes me really, really, really 遗憾 that I'm unable to catch it. Ah well.

Greetings from France!

Nina's house is so cool! :D I love the entire concept of it. I don't really know how to describe it... but it's completely different from my house. And she has an over-enthusiastic-excited-over-everything black Labrador called Dino! That's pronounced "dee-no". I think he really likes to be scratched. Because whenever he attacks me, I end up scratching his ruff and then he totally comes down. And he understands French!! As in he knows "assis!" means sit and how to shake hands that kind of thing. And to go when he's called.

I haven't taken photos of her house yet. Shall do that some time later.

Last night there was a "party" (sort of, I guess) at Alice's house cos it was Mathieu's birthday, but a few of us (me, Rachel, Zara, Gao Ge, Melissa...) were total zombies. Because of the jetlag I think. So Rachel, Zara and I ended up sleeping on a couch upstairs until it was over :P

The nights are freaking cold. And this coming from me, well... it means it's freaking cold.

For the past morning, I've been slacking around. Had a croissant with Nutella (they pronounce it as "noo-tella" :P), and all the while Dino was sitting by me and staring with these big doleful "please-feed-me!" eyes. Now I see why they have a dining table that is rather high with high chairs.

Speaking of the dining table, their house is... Well... Cool. The first level is what I think the Americans would call a den. There's also the parent's bedroom, which opens up to a tiny little garden. And also Dino's room! Which has "Chez Dino" written on the walls :D Then there's a flight of stone stairs leading up to the second level, where the kids' bedrooms are. Plus a toilet and two separate showers. Then a flight of "metal" stairs (I'll take pictures since my descriptive vocabulary totally sucks) which leads up to the kitchen + dining area, and then their living room which has a TV and sofas and a modern-looking fireplace.

And the cool part? You can't guess that the house looks like this from the outside. From the outside, it's just this plain white building on a rather empty street.

Nina's brothers have cool names. I don't know how they're spelled, though. Her older sister is Liza (spelling guess), her 13 year old brother is Cola (spelling guess), and her youngest brother is Ippolyte (spelling guess) but they always call him Ippo.

Communication has been... Like I imagined. My French totally sucks. Most of the time when they ask me something, I reply with "oui" or "d'accord" or "oh" or "merci".

Okay I shall go out now and not hole up in my room like some hermit crab.

Miguel Prado just got himself strangled in the previous episode. Good riddance. He was quite an ass.

About three and a half hours more... and I will be on my way to the airport. Still have stuffs here and there that I haven't packed into my handcarry, like my book, toothbrush, laptop stuff, etc etc. Still praying that it won't be overweight.

Leaving tomorrow night I realise I haven't read through Probability. I shall do it later... or tomorrow. Haha. The powers of procrastination -nods head seriously-

The excitement hasn't sunk in, though. Yet. Currently, it's more of a sense of dread and anxiety, since I haven't touched French ever since EOYs were over, and well... I'm just totally not looking forward to whatever awkward situations I'll find myself in over there. I mean, it's like in Singapore alone when I see posts in French on Facebook or whatever, I find myself breaking out in cold sweat because I don't know what quite some words mean, just catching the barest gist of what the article (or whatever) was about. And the scary part is that these posts are posted by fellow Singaporean friends from the programme.

And there's also another feeling on something else (also related to the trip), but it's kinda touchy so I'm not saying it here. Just keeping that one to myself.

I do have a few regrets. Like not being able to catch Puss in Boots and Breaking Dawn II and Tin Tin and most probably Sherlock Holmes II. Another is how there seems to be a lot of planning going on for activities, like class chalet and outings to USS and whatnot, but knowing that I'll be halfway across the globe until 2012, I just feel a little... regretful. Ish.

As of 7:57 PM, 24 November 2011, my luggage weighs 19.2 kg and my handcarry weighs 3.5 kg. Proud of the weight I got for my handcarry, since the maximum is 7 and I'm at half of that :D Of course I haven't put my laptop and book and stuff in yet. The luggage max weight is kinda sketchy, because on the MOELC portal they wrote it was 23 kg, but apparently during the briefing the 23 managed to lose 3 kg to become a 20.

On a sidenote, I must finish reading Soulmate by today (or tomorrow, 总之before departing) so I can bring A Game of Thrones along.

We had pizza for dinner (: And then I felt like watching a movie, but just that I didn't know what movie to watch. We ended up watching 剑雨, which was somewhat similar but a little better than 英雄. I mean, it was like it was also kinda confusing, and the plot was also kinda boring, but it was definitely better than the 英雄 plot. Plus it had a few twists, which made it all the more enjoyable, and the love story at the end was kinda touching. I think I almost cried. Key word: almost.

Didn't watch any Dexter tonight, which makes it the first in a few nights already. Let's see how many I can watch tomorrow, and just how much of Season 3 I can finish before leaving for France (:

Speaking of France, I've gotta continue packing the luggage tomorrow. GRAH D:

I pray my luggage + handcarry will not be overweight. And I'm bringing my school bag as handcarry o.o

Season 2, done.

The ending wasn't as awesome as that of Season 1, but I'd say it was satisfying enough, especially the last four minutes or so where Dexter manages to hunt down Lila all the way to Paris and finally kills her without hesitation. But the Season 1 ending was still better because it evoked way more emotions. Season 1 ended with the kill of Brian Moser (aka Rudy Cooper aka Ice Truck Killer), and it was a sort of bitter-sweet ending because he also turned out to be Dexter's older brother, so there was this sort of... connection between them but Dexter still had to kill him in the end. As for Lila, it was more of like... YES!! She's finally dead!! kind of thing.

And I'll probably be starting Season 3 even before reaching Bordeaux heh :D

I need to continue packing soon. Still have bits and pieces of stuff lying around.

And sort out my iTunes.

Full day CCA today. Lunch same as the other day, lemon chicken at Coro plus green tea frappe after that although I was trying to convince myself not to get Starbucks. Again.

Just finished episodes 2-07 and 2-08. A lot of people have... changing characters.

• Lundy and Debramake a totally cute couple, even though he's like 20 years older than her and can be mistaken for her dad.
• Dexter and Rita must patch up soon.
• Good riddance to Gail. She's been a major annoyance ever since she first turned up.
• Doakes is becoming a nuisance. I mean, seriously? He broke into Dexter's house and started snooping around and actually found Dexter's secret box behind the air con vent! I was totally gnashing my teeth in frustration.
• Lila is quickly being revealed for the manipulative _ she is. Totally hate her now.
• Thank god Dexter is coming to knowledge of The Above Point. I was cheering away happily when he confronted her.

Then I was trying to source around for the meaning behind the season posters... But I couldn't really get anything except for the latest season which is Season 6 ):

This is the one for Season 1, which I think is pretty obvious...? Because the main antagonist of this season was the Ice Truck Killer, and throughout the season they were finding body parts which had been stored in ice and devoid of blood. And then in the poster it's like... his hand + arm look so (intentionally) pale like... well that of a corpse's. But then again I don't really know. It's just a wild guess. On the other hand (no pun intended), the more I look at it, the creepier it gets, because it's that kind of picture where you don't know if that's his hand there of if it's someone else's hand.

Listening to the 30 songs in the soundtrack now. So far, most of them are just... mindblowingly amazing. Why does this always happen to me. Fall in love with the show, then fall in love with the soundtrack. Sigh.

I shall sort through the whole list tomorrow and see which are my real favourites. Which is gonna be pretty tough since all of them are real good.

Which also means this scene will come out soon!!

Except lunch which was probably the best part of CCA where Shin Yee and I went out to Coro for lemon chicken (well, I had lemon chicken. she had some other kind of chicken), then to Starbucks. Both of us got the Starbucks card thingums!! Like Ma's one. So now I have one too :D

After lunch we spent an hour or so watching a video from a past Nanyang performance held on 22 July 2006. My only comment: All of us were unanimous in one thing, that is squirming and feeling nauseous whenever the emcees spoke (which was quite often), whether in English or Chinese because it's so... "Nanyang".

Went home, played around on the piano, then for some reason drifted over to my long-time-never-touch guzheng although I've been playing (another) guzheng since 9 in the morning. Then I realised it was kind of messy, like the stands were all messed up and not at the appropriate distance from the ridge, so I adjusted it with the Ikea measuring tape, did the typical markings, then went about tuning the guzheng. Proud of self. -nods head-

By then dinner was already ready but I felt sticky and dirty and icky all over so I went to have a quick bath first. Chionged through dinner, watched two episodes of Dexter, and here I am.

Comments on episodes Love American Style and Return to Sender:

• This Ice Truck Killer guy is giving me the creeps. Like seriously. Just catch him soon, man.
• As much as it amuses me, Dexter has seriously got to cut down on an ego. I mean, really?? A serial killer breaks into his house and leaves stuff there and takes stuff and plans his murders all around Dexter (you don't know what I'm blabbering about, do you), and he is so chill about it. He doesn't even freak.
• Please, Dexter, the thing about ego again. Please be more careful. You almost got caught this time. Half the time I was watching with my hand in between my eyes and my laptop screen. If you're not freaked, then I'm about to get a heart attack for you.

There's still guzheng tomorrow oh wonderful. At least it's only from 9.30 to 12. Can watch a few more episodes after that... And the best part is that it's during the day :D

There's just something creepy about watching a show like Dexter at night. Especially at this hour or so. It puts me on an edge. Strange, because TVD has never made me feel like this before.

Nope, that doesn't mean anything. TVD is still my favourite of my favourite TV shows. Period.

Oh yay! Finally managed to get the com to detect my phone and upload my photos :D

Today has been a very... relaxed day, as compared to the past days of my December holidays. Like spent the whole day at home, watched an episode of The Secret Circle, four episodes of Once Upon A Time (which is completely, totally different from Grimm except for the fairy-tale-characters-come-to-life theme thingy so I have no idea why people are making comparisons once again), three episodes of Dexter (currently on the fourth). Dexter turned out to be a little draggy, but it has like this morbid sense of fun, or rather Dexter Morgan does, and it's sort of like CSI, so I doubt I'll be dropping it any time soon. I wanna watch Supernatural and How I Met Your Mother too, but Funshion doesn't seem to have them DD:


The theme song of 画皮, called 画心, a song which I've gotten really obsessed with recently.


The opening sequence of Dexter, which is quite cool. Because it's like Dexter's doing his morning sequence, a usual morning sequence another person does, but the way they film it, it's like all the different ways someone can be killed.


If I had any doubts before (which I did not), this has totally convinced me to watch HIMYM.

That night, the full moon was so beautiful... A pity things like that always don't look on camera. That's why your memory is the best camera that you can ever have.



In the morning, I was outside on the balcony combing my hair and I saw the moon setting... It was crimson from the rays of the rising sun... Yet another moment where I wished that I could capture the quality of this sight in my mind and remember it forever...
