#1169 I raise my flags, don my clothes

New song fetish

Because beautiful melody + beautiful lyrics (': [and it happens to be about the Iraq War]

"I kicked in the door / I yelled my commands / The children, they cried / But I got my man / We took him away / A bag over his face / From his family and his friends / They took off his clothes / They pissed in his hands / I told them to stop / But then I joined in / We beat him with guns / And batons not just once / But again and again"

"She walked through bullets and haze / I asked her to stop / I begged her to stay / But she pressed on / So I lifted my gun / And I fired away / The shells jumped through the smoke / And into the sand / That the blood now had soaked / She collapsed with a flag in her hand / A flag white as snow"

"A hero of war / Is that what they see / Just medals and scars / So damn proud of me / And I brought home that flag / Now it gathers dust / But it's a flag that I love / It's the flag I trust"

This looks so real and so legitimate...

But it isn't.

Simply legendary.

From pre-OP times this was so long ago D:

One of my favourite poems :D

I really miss doodling on the whiteboards in class in Nanyang. Hwa Chong classrooms have no markers at all ): so when this classroom at the topmost floor of Block E turned out to be that rare exception, how could I not miss the chance?

 Typo haul with Yifan (:

OP is over! I actually miss PW because of the company ):

 Joel the bag-carrier

 ECP during chalet~

Lunch/ 401 gathering at Mdm Lee's house (: those bread thingies were awesome. so were the grapes

Our French teacher for next year oh heavens above

 Farewell )':

 My awesome star-folding skills

Making her gift as a class ):

Voilà, my excellent completely atrocious cake-designing skills

#1166 enough to make my systems blow
Saturday, 28 December 2013

Right now I'm really hating math. I can't get the same stupid graph even with the stupid GC and the stupid answer key is just about as helpful as a tank of water to a fried fish. The math notes are a huge mess and the format's all different and the font is disgusting and it feels as if I'm trying to decipher Arabic. People talk about getting 4 stupid As for A levels and I'm just sitting here laughing and crying at the same time because at this rate I'm going to get a stupid F for math.

I mean what's the point of digging in so deep anyway it's not as if I need to know how expand a binomial expression or calculate the sum to infinity of a ridiculously huge summation or transform a graph that looks more like a knotted worm or try to find an inverse function from a function for god knows why or play with inequalities when in real life the play button is more useful or find the reflection of a line on a plane like that will solve all my existential crises or try to sort out what belongs to the tangent and what belongs to the normal or find the freaking area of a graph or expand a stupid expression using a stupid long-winded method for no apparent reason.

What is the point?

What is the point of trying to cram an entire universe into my head when really I'm going to happily forget them in a year's time? Will I be trying to expand using Maclaurin's Theorem while I'm shopping in the supermarket when I grow up? Will I be trying to find the volume of an area under a graph while I'm looking for a new house when I grow up? Will I be trying to figure out the equation of a tangent to a squiggly graph while commuting to work when I grow up?

It's pointless. It's wasting my time, my effort, and my energy. It's impractical. And this fact - for as much as you want to deny it, that you want to believe that hardcore memorising all this shit will apply 100% in your future life, it is still a fact that 99% of the cohort will forget more than half of this - is annoying the living hell out of me.

Reading about my MBTI personality type again.

Apparently I share the same personality type as Putin, Caesar, Lance Armstrong, Scwarzenegger, Thomas Jefferson, JFK, Woodrow Wilson, Walter White, Gandalf the Grey, Hannibal Lecter, Moriarty, and House.

#1163 I'm breaking in, shaping up, then checking out on the prison bus
Wednesday, 25 December 2013

This Christmas feels so depressing, because it means that what will probably be the worst year of my academic life is starting in less than a month.

Also, it means that we're back ):

Anyway, the plane ride was pretty cool (business class woohoo :D), and I more or less marathoned Torchwood throughout the 10 hours. With a few hiccups and near-death experiences when I discovered that 1) the power socket did not much the plug for my computer charger, 2) I did not pack an adaptor in my hand-carry baggage, 3) for a few minutes after I borrowed dad's adaptor, the computer didn't charge so I had a mini heart attack.

And I was over there, on the plane, hyperventilating to myself whenever a crossover/ reference was made to Doctor Who.

"Vote Saxon"

Spot the "Bad Wolf" 000:

I was more or less gasping for air and flapping my hands around like a seal when the last scene of the last episode of the first season came on (:

Other than that, I hate this temperature + climate, why on earth is it so dark already at 7.30, and really I should be sleeping it's local time 9.39 but my body clock's at 2.39 am.

#1161 I wipe my brow and I sweat my rust
Wednesday, 11 December 2013

Watching the sunset over Lake Taupo and Mount Ngauruhoe (aka Mount Doom), while humming Ed Sheeran's I See Fire in my head is one of the most majestic, breath-taking, and tear-jerking things I have ever experienced, the other being that night from Biarritz back to Bordeaux. The skies were alit with reds and oranges and yellows, fading to blues and purples, and really, it was as if the entire thing was a canvas that had been set on fire. Plus I See Fire, which, coincidentally or not, is from The Desolation of Smaug, and boom.

On the flip side, have you ever put in 200% for something, feel really ridiculously proud about it, only to realise that it is all for naught? Yeah. And now I can't do any goddamn shit about it until we get back to Singapore, where I have to do it All. Over. Again.

To think I intended those few days before school reopens to be dedicated to math and biology, given that the ever awesome math and biology departments decided to put math and biology lecture tests right when school reopens hallelujah praise the Lord for their generosity and belated Christmas presents. Don't even talk about chemistry and how I can't remember anything from what we've learned this year and my knowledge of solubility product and whatnot is currently below freezing temperatures thank you very much.

So now anyway these few precious days have to be shoved away for French Coursework. Brilliant.

I feel like crying. I feel like swearing. I feel like dying. I feel like destroying everything in my sight. I feel like quitting school and moving to Kiwiland for good and becoming a farmer's helper or something.

I want to go back to Singapore to clear up this increasing pile of shit. I don't want to go back to Singapore because reality really sucks. This holiday is so fucked up.

#1160 I'm waking up to ash and dust
Tuesday, 10 December 2013

I feel so Tumblr-deprived and it is horrible.

Other than that, the weather is awesome, the food is awesome, the fun is awesome. Except my skin which is peeling like a rotten banana.

Also, I'd love to ignore everything Math, and Biology, and the fact that I have forgotten 90% of what I've learned this year for Chemistry, and other stuff on my to-do list.

But no.

I don't want to go home D:
