The Loneliest Creatures in the Universe

Fascinating race, the Weeping Angels. The only psychopaths in the universe to kill you nicely. No mess, no fuss, they just zap you into the past and let you live to death. The rest of your life used up and blown away in the blink of an eye. You die in the past, and in the present they consume the energy of all the days you might have had, all your stolen moments. They're creatures of the abstract. They live off potential energy.

The Lonely Assassins, that's what they used to be called. No one quite knows where they came from, but they're as old as the Universe, or very nearly. And they have survived this long because they have the most perfect defence system ever evolved. They are Quantum Locked. They don't exist when they are being observed. The moment they are seen by any other living creature they freeze into rock. No choice, it's a fact of their biology. In the sight of any living thing, they literally turn into stone. And you can't kill a stone. Of course, a stone can't kill you either, but then you turn your head away. Then you blink. Then, oh yes, it can. That's why they cover their eyes. They're not weeping, they can't risk looking at each other. Their greatest asset is their greatest curse. They can never be seen. Loneliest creatures in the Universe. And I'm sorry. I am very, very sorry. It's up to you now.

Whatever you do, don't blink. Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck.

I feel conflicted.

Because I changed one of the words (try to spot which one) of this blog post title. The original lyrics aren't supposed to be like that but I changed it and now I feel like I'm not doing the song justice.

Anyway.

I realise there may be something wrong with my history tab thing. When you click like "December 2012" it only shows the latest posts of December 2012 and all the earlier posts are missing D: -cries- Time to look for a new HTML for history >:

#iam a Koh, a Hwachie (sounds damn gay, but it's a better alternative to HwaChongian), a 401er, a 13S70ian, an NYGZer, an HCGEer, an OG31ian, an Aresian

I couldn't find a picture for Nanyang. Which explains the missing NYGHer.

I really love this photoaday theme, just because (:

Bubble tea with Belle one of the days a long time ago! Seriously the cutest bubble tea covers ever.

Pig.

Shu Yan's pencil case was made from her hongzi OOOOOOO: friggin cool. Shu Yan has all of these DIY stuff (like her pencil case) which are totally envy-worthy.

tbh I didn't understand the Ares play.

But then again:
"In Soviet Russia, TV watch you."
Through the microscope! Picture taken by Aileen since my hands are shaky paws which are too unstable.

Heh heh dinner with the CCA! I forgot when though ._. And why .__.

Infinite 2013 :D

Which kinda reminds me of Sequences and Series -pukes- Lecture Test first thing on Monday when school reopens so pooped for it.

So pretty altogether~ :D

I honestly really prefer the previous designs. Hope next year's designs will be nicer sigh.

Past drawings which are fading in colour D: The orchids used to be dark purple but now they're like white.

They finally updated it (':

(tbh how does War Game = POP + Song + Dance) .__.

Pretty morning skies! 8D The Bukit Timah area has one of the prettiest sunrise/ sunset scenes.

Ares Ἄρης

Pretty colours in Bio hoho.

Presenting 13S70's Shagspeare Shakespeare.

Note the next WA message he sent (the notification right on top).

Yun Yang's sketch of Mignon 000000:

Snacking at MOELC while waiting for French to start heh.

Lunch with Fongalong and Hooty at Aston's after the NYGZ SYF Rehearsal!

TYETRAYSHUN.

On hindsight I should've swapped the first two conical flasks around so the colours would've gone nicer. But Mrs Lim was already starting to stare at me so sigh :/

I love this picture so, so much.

"How dareth thou incur mine wrath? Beware, I shalt disgureth thine face with this green mosquito coil!"

I hath a cooleth hateth.

Our group's polypeptide.

It was good in comparison with Yun Yang and Jaryl's group. They had acquired a coil which was skin-coloured, and then proceeded to make a polypeptide in the shape that looked suspiciously like a certain part which only Y-chromosomes have.

And then Aow See and Kimberly's group, which was something beside theirs, made a spiral polypeptide and then, together with Yun Yang and Jaryl's group, they went on to show Mrs Goh the joining of two polypeptides.

She took pictures.

The last time I was in a coed school, I was six.

Things have definitely changed a bit.

Shakespeare and our green polypeptide cloud. It really looks like a cloud.

5 years on... Don't have the blue Alter Ego 4. Sigh D: If not all five together would be really pretty.

Part 1.

Part 2.

Oh how I miss POP. I should just randomly dance the 2013 Fac Dance again (:

So punny :D

I was so proud of myself for coming up with this pun okaye.

Cows are my new thing. It used to be Poisson, then the beans, and now, cows.

Shakespeare being Shakespeare.

Ranting.

What to do during Math lecture to not fall asleep.

(I still fell asleep.)

(But that was before I drew the bovines.)

Spam pretty pre-Water Day pictures! The PE Department had kindly only booked 1 bus back to school for 4 CCAs, so I was one of the few who decided to stay back a little while and wait at Marina Barrage. It turned out to be a good thing, because sunset + Marina Barrage + city skyline = pure magic. Though I still hold a grudge against Water Day since it took away my fac meeting and class outing (they had so much fun at ECP D:) and class walk.

Anyway we were randomly highing (we being me and Belle, actually) and singing songs out of tune on purpose (while the Hwa Chong Choir was rehearsing downstairs oops heh heh) and just fooling around. It was awesome. (but meh class outing sob)

Water Wally ._.

Yao Yang emo.

Kites in the sky were so pretty, but they're so tiny here that they look like flies .__.

The most gorgeous clouds ever...

I mean cotton candy clouds omfg.

I really love sunrise/ sunset scenes 8D

And Mom who used the wrong emoji.

Spent the entire afternoon today doing math and till my I'm completely mindfrazzled. I should just go bang my head against a rock or something. Sigh Math always has this effect D:

So as of now French is my favourite subject. Since, ironically, it's the only subject that I actually clearly understand what's going on. But that's probably about to change since the next topic is Vie Rurale - Vie Urbane which is a total

#985 when I see the stars, that's all they are
Thursday, 14 March 2013

This is the cutest thing ever.
Being in a room full of laughter.
New York City in the winter.
Falling asleep to the rain.
Paris in the summer.
When the leaves change someone.
Being with your whole family and listening to the sound of everyone.
Talking late into the night.
Sharing happy stories about someone who passed away.
Listening to a great song for the very first time.
Campfires on the beach.
Falling asleep with no worries.

And finally.

Happy Ides of March.

Et tu, Brute?

#984 so this is it? I sold my soul for this?
Sunday, 10 March 2013

What an exhausting weekend. Which signals the impending even more exhausting week to come.

Oh gag I just can't wait for the next weekend to come. I mean the teachers will still spam us with truckloads of work, but at least it's the weekends before the March hols.

Seriously no life D: The only fun thing I did today was in the morning. NYGZ SYF Rehearsal, followed by random walking around and lunch at Bugis Plus with Hooty and Fongalong.

Hello, JC life.

How I miss Orientation. The hype, the fun, the pure highness, the pride, the faculty love. It was truly once in a lifetime.

#983 some nights, I always win, I always win
Thursday, 7 March 2013

I guess I'm one of those kind of people who get extremely worked up over disrupted plans.

Doesn't it irk you how after you've planned for an event for so long, something that you've been looking forward to ever since it first got planted as a seed in your mind, gets flicked off its space on the calendar by something else? Especially since this event is supposed to be a relaxing closure to the end of a hectic first four weeks of a new chapter of your life, an event that you won't be able to experience again until at least a full ten weeks later?

It's true how this event won't be the only one in history, but it's the first one, and that counts for something. The first event in a hopefully long list, with all the activities already nicely planned, activities for relaxation and bonding and fun. Something that I've been looking forward to ever since school started.

And all it takes is one second for everything to come crumbling down.

Is it even possible to get so upset over something as seemingly trivial as this? Is it even normal to cry so badly over a disrupted plan?

My ears are blocked, my nose is blocked, and I can't breathe.

#982 and some nights, I'm scared you'll forget me again
Tuesday, 5 March 2013

Tonight's one of those nights that I really don't feel like doing anything.

There's a Bio quiz on Thursday yet my Bio notes have been sitting in front of me for ages.

Right now, my fingers are just twitching to type something. I'm in a ohmygoose-I-seriously-need-to-get-some-typing-and-formatting-on-any-Word-document-done mood. Which explains why I just spent nearly the past half hour editting the format of the plan squelette of my group's essay. It's seriously screwed. It's much neater now, but still screwed.

Speaking of, first JC French Contrôle next week and I am not. Prepared. At. All. Especially for the compo since the format's totally screwed up. A complete opposite of what we've been learning the past four years in LA/ GP. Ironically, the section I do the best in may end up being listening. After all, for last year's Prelims, it was the listening that actually pulled me shitty score up .____.

It's quite annoying how many choices I'm choosing to give up. Since the start of the proper school year with Orientation, I've already had to make so many life-altering choices. And I've said no to most of them. Fac Comm (no), Council (no), Reach Cambridge (no), Science Research Project (no), CenTaD Mini Projects (no), CenTaD Glasgow (most probably no). The only one I went "aiya whatever lah heck care lah" was for APYLS. Not even sure if I can get in for that one, since they explicitly said they want "extroverted students". Which is really kind of prejudiced. But oh well anyway. I really need to stop thinking too much.

First Panorama meeting tomorrow. I'm actually a little excited. New second CCA, new "batchmates" (I doubt we'll get really close though). I still find it really weird why they asked me to join. Most of the things I write are rather ridiculous. And sarcastic. I think I can craft rather lovely sarcastic sentences. When I want to at least. It's quite fun. And an absolute delight to read.

#981 cause I could use some friends for a change
Monday, 4 March 2013

Even though that two-year chapter of my life has long passed, whenever I look back at it, I still feel out of place. Two brilliant years that I am thankful to have passed, but as much as they feel right, they feel wrong too.

That feeling of being neither here nor there, but just somewhere in the middle. It's a little upsetting.

#980 well some nights, I wish that this all would end

Dance ICs of Ares, Artemis and Athena - winners of the group category of Talent Time 2013. Really, really breathtaking. Just so you know, the strange sounds you hear in the first few seconds are not part of a soundtrack or anything. They're beatboxing by the third guy who suddenly pops up 0:48. Seriously, it's just like watching robots dance. Especially with the Artemis masks on.

Another nice song by Pink.

Latest in the list of my favourite songs (which is honestly quite long, but at the top will forever be a certain song by fun. :D), is a song by Imagine Dragons. Became really obsessed with this song today, especially after I was highing over it on Twitter in the car on the way to dinner just now, and the radio so happened to play it 0:

But anyway.

ARES WON FAC SHIELD 2013.

It was suddenly announced one fine day during morning assembly, and I guess everyone was still trying to rub sleep from their eyes so the atmosphere wasn't that high. But the satisfaction of restoring the Fac Shield title is enough (:
